My name is Ismael Roman, and Hapkido is my life.
Now, I know that a lot of people think Hapkido is only about learning how to fight...and defend yourself... But the truth is, It's So Much More

See, your whole body is moving in new ways, every class. You'll move your legs in ways you never have with the different kicks and stances you learn. You'll move your arms in new ways as you learn to strike, block, and hold special stances. And because it engages your whole body - extra weight slips right off of you.
All in all, it's a life-changing experience.
And I believe in it so much that I've dedicated my life to brining Hapkido to as many people as possible.
It's been my journey to show people how to defend themselves, as well as how to connect to the inner-peace and calm that's there in all of us...
Sometimes we just don't see it.

It relieves back, neck, and other body pain from the relaxing stretching, and constant movement of the body.
And it strengthens your sprirt as you tackle challenge after challenge - always succeeding Aways coming out on top.
There's a reason it's been around so long: It works.
And now, I'd like the opportunity to bring it to you, too.
One of the things we learn in class is not just how to control our bodies - but how to control our minds and emotions too. I feel now that I have an inner-calm now. It's like nothing can shake me. I'm polite and courteous in situations where I used to sometimes be short with people. I smile genuinely at all of my cus- tomers. I'm more appreciative of my family and friends.
This is NOT just learning how to defend yourself. This is learning how to make your life even better. In every way.

Hapkido is a Korean Martial Art of self- defense. Unlike most martial arts, Hapkido is a complete system teaching kicks, punches, pressure point techniques, throws, joint locks, weapons, free fighting, ki and meditation. Many other martial arts are “hard” – they rely on physical power and are offense oriented. Hapkido is “soft” and defensive, emphasizing throws, twists and pressure point techniques.
No worries. You don’t need any martial arts experience to start Hapkido training. That’s our job… to train you in Hap: The coordination of mind and body. Ki: The inner energy that is created and manifested through “Hap” and Do: The self-controlled and disciplined life necessary to create “Hap” and “Ki”. The system is designed to take people with no previous experience and bring them to a level of proficiency, self-knowledge, and confidence.
While the classes can be challenging and physically demanding at times, you do not need to get in shape first. Hapkido is suitable for all ages and abilities, regardless of fitness level. In fact, taking classes is the best way to get into shape. Our class format is created to push students but also allow them to progress and reach their goals at a pace they feel comfortable with.
Safety is our top priority so not only is our facility safe, we also help you build a strong foundation before you climb the Hapkido ladder, so to speak. You decide when and how far you want to progress and what intensity you want. Everyone here is very supportive and helpful in training.
